Government Affairs Chair Position Description

The Committee Chair for the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association (PMA) Government Affairs Committee will lead and manage the committee’s activities focused on advancing and protecting members' rights to utilize all pertinent chemicals in the polyurethane industry. This role involves strategic foresight, advocacy, and collaboration with government policymakers, as well as fostering member engagement and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities

The Government Affairs Committee of the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association (PMA) is committed to advocating for policies and initiatives that safeguard and enhance the interests of our members. Our priorities include the continued safe and responsible use of chemicals in our industry, alongside regulations that stimulate innovation and bolster global competitiveness. We aim to ensure that these policies are well-balanced, grounded in science, and acknowledge the crucial role of our essential industry.

The committee emphasizes the importance of cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with State and Federal legislators to effectively advocate for the industry’s requirements and perspectives. Additionally, we strive to offer resources and support that empower our members to undertake their own advocacy initiatives, promoting a cohesive and influential voice on matters crucial to our industry.

Through strategic advocacy, cooperative efforts, and active engagement of our members, our committee aspires to create a regulatory landscape that promotes the responsible use of chemicals and compounds, while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
